Introduction

SuperTray is a program I wrote back in the days of Windows 95.  That was before the QuickLaunch toolbar, so I needed a way to quickly get to my most important resources.  An straightforward way seemed to have an icon in the system tray.  So that is what I did.  The program proved to be indispensible by saving me a lot of time, I would otherwise spend navigating through the file system. Even now, with the QuickLaunch toolbar, it is still extremely useful and time-saving.

As I mentioned before, SuperTray resides in the system tray and provides access to the computer resources that you use most often.  It provides options for the quick access menu to popup when the mouse is moved over it, on mouse click and on mouse double-click.  This application has the capability and the potential to increase your productivity by shortening the time for getting, retrieving and viewing your computer's most valuable resources and documents. 

Features

SuperTray accepts various types of resources: files, folders, URLs, batch files, etc...  It can be programmed to popup the menu on single-click, double-click or simply moving the mouse over the SuperTray icon in the system tray. 

It is easy to add links to your quick access menu -- just drag and drop any application, document, resource, link or shortcut on the program setup screen, start the SuperTray and the entry will automatically appear on the menu.  Yet another way  to add entries to SuperTray is to simply click on Add New... button and select a new file.  SuperTray provides full control over editing, removing, renaming and reshuffling entries.

The download includes not only the executable, but also the source code .  The icon tray routines are entirely based on a tray icon control, the source for which is also available on this site.  The executable is compiled using VB6, so be sure to have the appropriate runtime files.
