What do you get when you cross-polinate a well-recognized authority on data access in VB with a C# expert? Well, nothing really, except for two fat guys. What do you get when the two sit down to write a book together? You get a great data access book for C#, that a VB guy can easily read.

If the book title sounds familiar, that's because Bill Vaughn has previously released two "Examples and Best Practices" titles for VB and for VB.NET. And if you liked his off-the-cuff style and amusing jokes, you won't be disappointed - the cross-polination did not lessen his manners.

You do get, though, a book that much thinner than his previous tomes. That's because classic ADO is almost completely omitted in this book. It makes sense because C# programmers (all 5 of them) have never had to deal with classic ADO, so no sense in polluting their pretty, object-oriented heads with it.

You'll learn everything you would expect from a data access book, along with invaluable tips, tricks, examples, etc… Keep in mind, that this book is not for newbies. Previous experience programming is assumed. They won't teach you the while loop.

Just like the previous "Examples and Best Practices" books, this one is a keeper.
