Now and then a book comes out that is so brilliant and so powerful that it smashes the limits of VB programming wide open. It almost becomes a bible. Dan Appleman's API Guide was such a book. Really, there hasn't been another book that has seen as much use (for me, anyway). Now, O'Reilly Publishing has put out another book that has a potential to reach this status. The name of the book is "Hooking & Subclassing with Visual Basic". Written by a first-time author, Stephen Teilhet, it succinctly & plainly explains these complicated techniques and places them within reach of just about any mid-level (and higher) VB programmer. For those who don't know what subclassing/hooking is, ask yourself this question: have you ever added a file preview to a Open File Dialog or at least a simple button? 'Nuff said.

Thanks to our relationship with O'Reilly & Associates, we present an exclusive interview with the author of the book, Stephen Teilhet.
