About vbRad.com

vbRad.com was conceived by two longtime Visual Basic programmers:  Matthew Ferry and Robert Gelb. That would be us.  We've been talking about creating a web site for a long time and finally found enough time and energy to get it going.  Now that the site is online, we found that we use it for reference or code repository ourselves.  Meanwhile, we add new code, tricks, tips and other snippets all the time, so check back often to find new ways to improve the way and the the speed at which you program.

Matthew Ferry is the owner & the principal developer of Pueblo Systems - a developer shop that specializes in creating custom solutions for small to midsize businesses.  He's been programming professionally since 1993.  He started programming in Visual Basic since version 3.0.  Matthew is also fluent in other computer languages and environments, such as C, Pascal, ASP, SQL, VB DOS, VBScript and JavaScript.  He was a pioneer in distributed programming with Visual Basic, having started to employ n-tier architecture since the beta version of VB4.  Matthew is an expert on COM, DCOM and fishing.  Through the years, he acquired extensive experience with a variety of databases, including Sybase, Access, SQL Server, Oracle and others.

Robert Gelb has been programming since 1991 and professionally since 1994.  Having started in Quick Basic and C, he moved on Visual Basic after discovering its potential.  Robert has initially worked for a startup called Data Express, where he designed mapping, communications and various other software for wireless devices.  Other than Visual Basic, which is Robert's specialty, he is also comfortable in C/C++, ASP & related technologies, JavaScript, SQL, VB DOS and assembly.  He is an expert at wireless data communications, database, mapping (GIS) technologies. Currently, Robert works developing various database applications.
