Sometimes, we need to change the size of the text/font in IE or VB 6 Online Help.  Usually you have to go to the View menu, choose Text Size or Fonts and then select the proper text/font size.  A real drag, if you are accustomed to working quickly.

Here is a faster way to accomplish the same thing.  It requires a mouse with a wheel.  Hold down the Ctrl key and scroll the wheel one notch at a time .  Scroll up to reduce the size, scroll down to increase the size.

The same can be accomplished in Mozilla (Netscape 6), except it goes the extra mile.  While in IE you have 5 font sizes, from which to choose, Mozilla lets you increase the fonts until one letter takes up the entire screen.  Similarly you can decrease the font size until you'll need a microscope to see the text.

In Netscape Navigator, you have to use tkey keyboard to change font size.  Hold down the Ctrl key and press either ] (increase font) or [ (decrease font).

I have internet explorer with a net gear modum to connect to the internet thru Charter Communications. I also have a mouse with out a roller ball. I am on a fixed income and not sure when I will be able to afford a mouse with a roller on it. I run Windows on my computer. I have to change the font size that comes in when people e-mail me because........when I go to print e-mails or things from pogo.com that people have sent me it cuts off the right side of the words and then I have to go in and write the words in by hand. Please, please help me in anyway that you possible can.

May God Bless each and Everyone of you and May he put a smile on your face,
Respectfully yours,

Kathy Lamothe

While on internet explorer, trying to increase text size I am having difficulty.

I go to VIEW, click on the size I desire but each time I check on that change I see that it has reverted back to the original setting. Example, It's now set at medium, when I click on the large setting it indicates that it's now large however when I close everything down and restart my computer and check the setting, I see that's reverted back to medium.

How can I fix the problem?

For some reasons when I open IE 8 Beta the search bar areas and font sizes are so small only ants can read them (honest!) such as Google and certain parts in IE. How can I restore my IE to normal sizes? I've tried everything..... Thx

My dad uses IE 8 with Vista and a MSN account. He can't control font size when printing. It is too small to read. If he increases printing font size, sentences run off the right margin. HP can't help; the Geek Squad had computer and printer for 2 weeks, and it couldn't resolve issue. What's the secret?!? By the way, the same is true when he prints web articles.

#27. By Diana. Posted on 7/11/2009 2:46:39 PM
Morning,
I am not sure what I did but my font is so small I have to copy and paste and put it in the word document and enlarge it. "What a pain!!! lol I have no VIEW as I d/l or updated and have the MSN toolbar with all the butterflys and the yahoo red Y's at the top. I don't have the edit view or any of that like I used to. SO how do I change the font size so I can read it. I also tried to click alt -P to bring up something but nothing. I clicked on start and could not find internet explorer to change it there ( suggestions I read) HELP I can't stand this small font size. Thanks in advance Diana

#28. By LMR. Posted on 7/17/2009 3:29:42 PM
I had that same problem and I just went to "page" (this should be located beside the tool bar) and then go to "zoom" and then click on "100%" and then the sscreen size should go back to normal.

NO CHANGE

#30. By Susan. Posted on 9/12/2009 8:52:50 PM
OMG! Last week for some mysterious reason, the size of my text in IE8 shrank to the point where I had to use my bifocals to read it. I tried everything that MSN and a couple other sites said to do but it didn't work or the text got so big it overlapped other things on the page and was unreadable. Today I found this! This has to be the easiest thing I have ever done to fix something on my computer. YOU TOTALLY ROCK! You should be advising the imbeciles at EBAY & MSN.

HOW DO I DECREASE THE SIZE OF THE PRINT WHEN I AM PRINTING TEXT ???

#41. By Rebecca. Posted on 2/10/2010 5:54:33 PM
I am working with windows 7 and MS applications 2007 as well. My problem is that I can't change the size of my font from small to large. I tried everything from changing the size of the output on the monitor through "Display". I need to change the font somehow so that when it goes to the printer it comes out the right font size. Right now for some odd reason it is only printing a size much smaller than an 8 font size. I cannot see what is printing. I even tried to reset the printer but it's not the printer it's the windows 7 software that must be fixed.
Thanks
Rebecca

To all of you who are having problems with the font sizes. What you need to do to change the font to a .12 Times Roman you need to go into Word select select Home and you will see the Font and Size. This is where you change the Font Size but to set the font size default so that it will stay the .12 or whatever size you choose you need to do the following:
1. click on the bottom of the Font in that specific box and the Font and Character Spacing window will open up.
2. in the Font Tab, select the FONT you want and the SIZE you choose and click on DEFAULT on the bottom of the window.
3. A message will appear asking if you want to change the font size and the font to the new one you selected.
4. Say Yes
5. Your done.

Remember this is in Windows 2007.
GOOD LUCK

My yahoo page was showing the font which was very small, so what I did is I just used the sign in my laptop which looks like a "spanner" and click on that, use the zoom +/- that will change the font readable. I hope it will help.

I have never had this to happen before. When I went on my computer this morning, I could barely reading it without a magnifying glass. I held my ctrl key down and by the type I am now typing, I hope it will be that when I switch back to my emails. We will see! Thanks, I am crossing my fingers. I am not good on the computer, (83) and do not like it when these happen to me. I hope this helps.

Increasing the font size for easier reading does not increase the font size for printing an email item. It is set around 8 and is very small print. We have two computers in the house and we both have the same problem. When we print something sent to us by email it is impossible to read. How is this corrected?

I know the trick with the wheel and control key but I have copies of printouts where the text is a nice size but mostly it comes out smaller than I like to read. Many areas of internet tell about enlarging on screen but I want enlarge on paper. I could not find print preview in some financial areas I am looking at. I have seen Print Preview in Quicken tho. In my Fidelity account they do show small A medium A and large A - but it is not consistent when I click large A. I mostly use Firefox but cannot get it large there either. Any new information about this would be most appreciated.
